With over 70 athletes in our competition, we had an awesome turnout. This wouldn’t have been possible without the help from all the volunteers we had. Again, I’d like to thank CrossFit Middle Tennessee, CrossFit NorthRidge, CrossFit Trussville, and all of our other CF trainers who helped in the judging and running of this event. I couldn’t have done it without them.

Here are the events for this weekend. We made a strong attempt to be as inclusive as possible in the weight/skill requirements without reducing the intensity or difficulty of the workouts. Remember, If you need to scale anything during the weekend, let your grader know and you will go after all un-scaled attempts by other athletes. Scaled attempts also will not be counted towards placement.
Scoring: All events will be scored on a 10-1 scale. If you win an event, you receive a 10. If you come in second place, you receive a 9, third receives an 8.. etc. The athlete/team with the highest score between all events will be declared the winner. If you do not place within the top ten, you will not be counted towards overall placement.
Rules: We will cover all rules prior to each event. all range of motion standards are typical of CF exercises and where applicable, we have used the same rules as those in the 2008 CF games.
FIRST INDIVIDUAL EVENT:
500m Row on C2
20x Pull-ups
As many rounds as possible in 10 minutes
SECOND INDIVIDUAL EVENT:
1RM Deadlift
1RM Overhead Squat
Add both maxes together for total score
THIRD INDIVIDUAL EVENT:
30x Push-Press at 75 lbs/45 lbs ( Men’s / Women’s weights )
30x Ring-Dips
30x Box Jumps at 24 inches
30x Squat clean at 95 lbs/65 lbs
30x KB swing at 53 lbs / 37 lbs
30x Burpees
One round for time
FIRST TEAM EVENT:
125x wall-ball shots at 20 lbs /16 lbs
100x Deadlift at 225 lbs / 165 lbs
75x Thrusters at 95 lbs / 65 lbs
50x Burpee Pull-ups
With a continually-running 20 second timer, Player #1 will have only 20 seconds to perform as many reps as possible of the first exercise ( WB shots), and must tag-out at the end of that 20 seconds to be replaced by teammate # 2. After another 20 seconds has passed, player #3 will tag in and the cycle will continue until 125 TOTAL Wall ball shots have been accumulated among team members. Once this has occured, the team may progress to the next exercise. The team that finishes first wins.
SECOND TEAM EVENT:
Teams must choose which member will compete in each of three seperate events. The team with the lowest total completion time for all events wins (Sprint-triathalon format).
Event 1 – 30x Clean and Jerk at 135 lbs / 95 lbs
Event 2 – 250m row + 25 box jumps onto a 24″ box- Five rounds
Event 3 – 9x 15 foot Rope climbs

Volunteers, please send in registration forms ( minus payment ) and write in “volunteer” on your form. We will have a volunteer/trainer meeting at The matrix gym on Friday February 13th, (creepy huh?) at 5:00 PM.
During this meeting we will formulate workouts based on randomly selected exercises, time, and modal domains. If you are a trainer who wants to be in on this process, let me know.

We have been getting a lot of questions concerning the events, so just to clarify:
Scoring in the individual or team events takes into account every event during the weekend. this means that skipping an event will harm your chances dramatically at placing overall. Teams cannot change members between events unless they forfeit their chance of placing. Scaleded versions of every event will be offered for the last heats of each event. Scaled workouts cannot, however, be counted towards overall placement.
Registered athletes can participate in any combination of team or individual events. This means that you only have to register and pay once to be a participant in both the team and individual events. However, these events are designed to be stand-alone, and your ability to successfully perform in all five events over the course of the weekend isn’t very likely… in other words, you are welcome to try it, but you probably won’t win anything. Hell, if you do win both, we might even throw in an extra prize for you during the awards.
